Apollo launch event

24/12/2023

On the 20th April 2023 East Coast College were delighted to host the launch event for the Apollo Project in the East of England, at the Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa in Newmarket, Suffolk. This was the beginning of partnerships being built amongst Colleges to host and nurture the project, along with helping to develop the various training offerings to ensure the health and social care sector in the East of England is strengthened.

The Apollo project officially began offering courses to support the health and social care sector in Autumn 2023. It has been launched by NHS England and the Integrated Care Board to support a provision in the coastal and rural areas of the region. Strengthening the health and care workforce is a key priority if the integrated care approach is to deliver benefits to the people living in coastal and rural areas of the region.

The project has been designed to help everyone, from employers, to volunteers, to those seeking employment or individuals who are already employed wanting to upskill.

The launch event of the Apollo Project for the East of England was opened by East Coast College’s Assistant Principle Julia Bates and the day welcomed representatives from NHS England, University of Suffolk, The Department of Work and Pensions and many more.
