As part of the Apollo project, Norfolk and Suffolk Community Foundation are managing a grant scheme which will tackle key health and social care workforce issues. These grants have been made available to Voluntary, Charitable and Community organisations across Norfolk and Suffolk. The purpose of the grant is to assist staff and volunteers to develop skills and knowledge which will support their service provision alongside the health and social care pressures which are not being met in current projects and provision.
This will be done by delivering activity that is focused on at least one of the below areas:
- Improving opportunities for all through projects that provide work, training or upskilling for staff and/or volunteers.
Funding was available for community organisations to train staff and volunteers in areas of their current service, which in turn could support the pressures currently faced within the wider health and social care sector. Any training taking place would need to be outside of the normal in house training that community organisations were currently delivering and enhance their staff/volunteer’s knowledge base.
- Your BIG Health and Social Care Idea
This exciting section is an opportunity to put forward an idea which can be developed to tackle new and emerging health and social care employment and/or training issues. Groups were encouraged to think of new, inventive projects that could remove barriers to employment in the sector that people in their communities experienced and subsequently helping them to find and sustain employment.
